Cookie Policy

Last updated: 6 June 2026

Summary

This policy explains the cookies and similar storage technologies we use on pherox.co.uk and app.pherox.co.uk.

At launch, Pherox uses strictly necessary cookies only. These make the service work (keeping you signed in, protecting form submissions, and keeping the service secure). They cannot be switched off.

We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies, and we do not show a cookie banner, because there are no optional cookies to consent to. If we introduce analytics in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent through a cookie banner before any such cookie loads.

We do not use cookies for advertising or for tracking you across other websites. We do not sell cookie data.

If you have any questions, email us at team@pherox.co.uk.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your device when you visit it. The next time you visit, your browser sends the cookie back, so the site can recognise you and remember things about you (for example that you are logged in, or that you have already chosen your language).

We use the word "cookies" in this policy as a shorthand for cookies and a few related technologies that work in a similar way:

  • Local storage and session storage in your browser
  • Pixels (tiny invisible images that report back to a server)
  • Other small files that act like cookies

When this policy says "cookies", it means all of these.

2. How we use cookies on Pherox

At launch we use cookies for one purpose only:

  • To make the service work (strictly necessary cookies)

We do not currently use analytics or product-measurement cookies. If we add them later, they will be optional, off by default, and will load only after you consent (see section 4).

We do not use cookies for:

  • Advertising or retargeting
  • Tracking you across other websites
  • Building profiles of you for any commercial purpose
  • Selling data to third parties

3. Necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for Pherox to work. They are set automatically when you visit our websites or use the app. We do not need your consent for them under UK PECR because they fall within the "strictly necessary" exemption: they are necessary to provide a service that you have explicitly requested.

You cannot turn these off, because they are strictly necessary. You can block all cookies in your browser settings, but Pherox will not work properly if you do.

Cookie / storagePurposeProviderTypeHow long it lasts
pherox_sessionKeeps you signed in to your account between page loadsPherox (set by the app at app.pherox.co.uk)First-party session cookieSession (deleted when you close the browser)
pherox_csrfProtects against cross-site request forgery attacks during form submissionsPherox (set by the app at app.pherox.co.uk)First-party session cookieSession

cf_clearanceCloudflare security cookie; recognises you as a human after passing a security check, including the Turnstile check on our contact formCloudflareThird-party cookie set by our infrastructure provider30 days

The marketing site (pherox.co.uk) itself sets only the Cloudflare cookies above. pherox_session and pherox_csrf are set by the Pherox app at app.pherox.co.uk when you sign in. The contact form at pherox.co.uk/contact uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam; Turnstile relies on the Cloudflare cookies above rather than setting a separate Pherox cookie.

We may add or change necessary cookies from time to time as we update the infrastructure. We will update this policy when we do.

4. Analytics and tracking cookies

We do not currently use any analytics or tracking cookies. Pherox does not run Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, GrowthBook, Plausible, or any other analytics or measurement tool on our websites at this time. Nothing on Pherox profiles you, tracks you across other sites, or builds an advertising profile.

If we introduce analytics in the future, we will:

  • update this policy to describe exactly what each tool does and what it stores;
  • make any such cookies optional and off by default; and
  • ask for your consent through a cookie banner before any analytics cookie loads.

Until then, there is nothing here to consent to.

5. Your choices

Because we use strictly necessary cookies only, there are no optional cookies to manage on Pherox today, and we do not show a cookie banner.

Through your browser

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that if you block all cookies, Pherox will not work properly (you will not be able to stay signed in, and the service may refuse to load).

Major browsers all let you manage cookies:

  • Chrome
  • Safari
  • Firefox
  • Edge

When we add analytics

If we introduce optional analytics cookies in the future, we will show a cookie banner with equally easy "Accept all" and "Reject all" options and no pre-ticked boxes, plus a way to change your choice at any time. We will not load any optional cookie before you have consented.

6. Global Privacy Control

We do not currently set any optional or tracking cookies, so there is nothing for an opt-out signal to switch off today. If we introduce optional analytics in the future, we will honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a choice to reject optional cookies. We do not honour the older, deprecated Do Not Track (DNT) setting.

7. Third parties

The only third party that sets cookies through Pherox today is Cloudflare, our infrastructure provider. The Cloudflare cookies listed in section 3 are necessary for the service to work and to protect it from abuse. Cloudflare processes this data under its own privacy terms; it is listed in our Sub-processor List at pherox.co.uk/sub-processors and bound by our Data Processing Agreement (Schedule A to the Terms).

We do not currently load Google (Analytics), Microsoft (Clarity), GrowthBook, or any other analytics third party. If we add any of these in the future, we will update this policy and this section, and they will load only after you consent.

8. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our cookie use, the law, or our service changes. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.

If we add a new analytics tool or change a cookie's purpose in a way that affects you, we will update this policy and ask for your consent through a cookie banner before it takes effect.

If we add a new necessary cookie, we will update this policy and tell you what changed.

9. Contact us

If you have any questions about this policy, or if you would like to exercise any of your rights about cookie data, email us at team@pherox.co.uk.

You can also lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113, although we would prefer the chance to put things right first.
